About
About this receipt generator
Fill in your business and client details, add what was paid for, choose the payment method and date, and the receipt updates live. When it looks right, download it as a PDF and send it as proof of payment. Works on phone and laptop, nothing to install.
Is this receipt generator free?
Yes. You can create and download payment receipts for free. Free PDFs include a small “Made with tapntool.com” badge.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the page and start typing — no signup needed.
Which payment methods can I show?
Choose Cash, Card, Bank transfer, UPI, PayPal, Check, or Other. The method appears on the receipt and in the PDF.
What is the difference between an invoice and a receipt?
An invoice asks a client to pay (or confirms what is owed). A receipt confirms that payment was received — it is proof of payment, often with the payment method and date.
Can I link a receipt to an invoice number?
Yes. Use the optional Invoice ref field (for example INV-0001) so the receipt shows which invoice was paid.
Can I use my own currency and tax rate?
Yes. Choose your currency, enter any tax percentage, and add a discount as a percent or a fixed amount. Math matches our Invoice Generator.
Where is my receipt draft saved?
Your draft is saved automatically in your own browser on this device. It is not uploaded to our servers.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG logo (under 1 MB) and it appears on the receipt and the PDF.
Is this a legal tax receipt for my country?
This tool helps you format a professional payment receipt. Tax and proof-of-payment rules differ by country (GST, VAT, sales tax). Check your local requirements and add any needed fields (ABN, GSTIN, VAT number, etc.) before you issue the receipt.
How do freelancers use a payment receipt after getting paid by bank transfer or UPI?
After the money lands, open this tool, fill in the amount (or line items), set Payment method to Bank transfer or UPI, add the payment date and optional invoice ref, then download the PDF and email it to your client as proof of payment.
